Terms of Use
UNDERMASK Text Clean is a small utility. It removes hidden characters and formatting leftovers from text, on your phone. That is all it promises.
1. What this app is
Text Clean removes invisible characters, non-standard spaces, extra whitespace and, if you choose, formatting such as Markdown from text you paste into it. All processing happens on your device.
2. What it does not do
Text Clean does not rewrite your text and does not remove statistical watermarks that some AI models build into their choice of words. It makes no promise about how any AI detector, teacher, employer, or platform will treat the cleaned text.
You are responsible for how you use the text, including any rules on AI-generated content that apply at your school, workplace, or on the platforms where you post it.
3. Results
The app is designed to remove only characters you cannot see and formatting you choose to remove. Still, please read the cleaned text before you rely on it. In some writing systems invisible joining characters carry meaning, and removing them can change how words are displayed. The original stays in the input field until you clear it.
4. Free use
The free version allows 5 cleans a day for texts of up to 10,000 characters. Cleaning text that is already clean does not use up a free clean. The count is kept on your device and resets daily.
5. Purchases
Text Clean Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.
It unlocks:
- unlimited cleans of any length;
- extra cleaning rules: Markdown, curly quotes, long dashes, ellipsis;
- saving the cleaned text as a .txt file.
Payment is handled by Apple or Google. The purchase is tied to your store account, so reinstalling the app or changing phones does not take it away — use Restore purchase in Settings.
Refunds are handled by the store under its own rules, not by us. We cannot issue or refuse a refund; if you want one, request it through Apple or Google.
What Pro unlocks may be extended over time. If something is ever removed, it will not be removed from people who have already paid.
6. Your data
There are no accounts, and your text never leaves your device. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
7. Availability
The app is provided as is. It may change, and may one day stop being updated. It is made by one person, and no continuity is guaranteed.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from the use of the app or of text cleaned with it.
9. Age
The app is rated 4+.
10. Changes
These terms may change. The current version always lives on this page with its date.
